About Us

What is Peer Support?

  • A Peer is someone with whom we have something in common. This could be based on a specific diagnosis or condition, demographic or social characteristics, geographic location, core identity, or situational factors.
  • Support is something we offer to one another, an expression of empathy, strength, and encouragement, rooted in shared experiences. This is uniquely defined by each family in a given time space and time and can change from season to season.

Our Mission

To build a network of peer support for families of children and youth with special health care needs in the state of Wisconsin.

Our Vision

That all families of children and youth with special health care needs have a way to meaningfully connect with other families for mutual support, understanding, resources, and resiliency.

Our Values

Connection, community, collaboration, empathy, empowerment, partnership, and respect.
