Connecting Families is a network of culturally and linguistically responsive peer support in the state of Wisconsin for families of children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN). We help families connect with other families through our network and other community partners.
Wisconsin has a lot of resources available to families and navigating those services and the system can be overwhelming. Some families are not finding what they need. We know that one of the best resources is to simply connect families to each other. Connecting Families provides a network of support rooted in empathy, compassion, empowerment and mutual understanding.
What makes Connecting Families different?
Wisconsin already has many helpful supports in place for families and Parent to Parent of Wisconsin is the main statewide peer-to-peer support program for families of children with special needs. Connecting Families works alongside our community partners and is unique in these ways:
- We are nurturing the development of new family peer support resources that are specifically designed to address unmet needs.
- We provide ongoing support to our network of support parents through an ongoing learning community.
"... thanks for your guidance in the process for all these years. Hard to believe my child is transitioning to all these new adventures. Thanks for listening about my life stories."
